Principal Message

As I shared on Tuesday, this spring marks the end of my time at New Dundee Public School. During my two and a half years at our school, I have been most fortunate to meet and work with incredible people. The staff, students, and parent community at New Dundee have developed a tremendous learning culture based on positive interactions and respect. Thank you for welcoming me into your community; I feel honoured for having had this opportunity to work with your child and for being part of such a supportive school community. I will be the principal of Jean Steckle P.S beginning on April 1 and Mr. Brian Burnley will be the new principal of NDPS.

Reflecting on my time at NDPS, I am proud of the work the students, staff and community members have done. Here are some of the highlights: implementing the full-day kindergarten program, an active and supportive school council, the Victoria Day Parades, excellent concerts, our community embracing Twitter and School-Day as communication tools, the implementation of small group instruction throughout the grades, Olympic Day in 2014, the French Night in 2015, the song writing project where our students wrote, composed, and recorded their own songs, our students and staff members being featured on system videos, our Seniors’ Club, creating a culture of learning through technology, and Play 60. There are many more events and learning opportunities and I would love to hear from you about the great things we’ve done at NDPS. I encourage you to send me an email to share your thoughts andrea_michelutti@wrdsb.on.ca and I will share them with the new principal.

School council and the staff would like to invite you to the school on March 31 between 2:40 p.m. and 3:40 p.m. for a farewell assembly and social event. Please contact the office for more information.

Site Visit

Last Monday, our Superintendent Elaine Ranney visited the school and was impressed with our students and staff members’ hard work. She was grateful to see the students working hard in classes and noticed a sense of pride in the school.
