As you’ve no doubt noticed, the gardens in front of the school have been emptied! School Council has put together some new plans for the space and we need your help! We would love it if your family could participate in beautifying our space. Here are some ways you could get involved and support our school:

1. Contribute your sweat equity! On Saturday, October 18th beginning at 9:00 a.m. we’ll be hosting a Community Gardening Day at the school where we will prep the soil, place all of our plants in the ground and spread mulch around them. Bring your gloves, shovels and muscles to help us dig, plant & spread! We hope to wrap up by noon if we have enough help!

2. Donate a bit of time with your truck/trailer to pick up mulch for us. We have secured a great price on 6 yards of mulch from Kitchener Forest Products on Huron Road. We need people with pickup trucks or trailers who can pick up & deliver the mulch to the school on the morning of October 18th

3. Divide some of the perennials from your own gardens to share with us. We are speaking with local nurseries about possible discounts for any purchases we need to make, however the more we can use from community gardens the happier we’ll be! If you do not have any of these plants to share, please consider donating funds to assist us – you can receive a tax receipt for doing so if you donate through WEFI online, simply specify NDPS as the school you are supporting http://www.wrdsb.ca/wefi

Below is the list of plant materials we need – please email megohall@hotmail.com or call the school (519-696-2297) if you can commit to providing any of these plants so we can keep track of what we may need to purchase (we will continually update this list online so the numbers you see there are accurate).
