Join our Zinc Saves Lives Battery Recycling Campaign
Recycle for the Planet. Recycle for Life. Zinc Saves Lives.

Each year, nearly 450,000 children die due to complications associated with zinc deficiency. One AA battery contains the amount of zinc that can save the lives of six children.
This year, our Me to We team will be partnering with Teck for the Call2Recycle program to help keep batteries out of landfills and help get zinc to the children who need it most. For every battery recycled, Teck will donate the value of zinc it contains to UNICEF in support of our Zinc & Health partnership. Please send your old, used batteries to school for recycling.

Seniors Club
Thank you to Mrs. Dejong and Mrs. Nolet’s classes for an excellent Seniors Club last Wednesday. The students are looking forward to the next meeting which will take place on Wednesday, November 18. We are still looking for senior citizens from the Mannheim area. If you know of any seniors who would be interested in coming to school once a month, please contact the office at 519-696-2296.

Pumpkin Fest and Fall Halloween Activity Day – October 30
New Dundee P.S. is going to have a hallway full of pumpkins again this year on Friday, October 30. Families are encouraged to create a pumpkin masterpiece at home, bring it to school and then enter their pumpkin in one of the following categories: funniest, longest nose, scariest, prettiest, biggest smile, best dressed, smallest, biggest, and most interesting.

Parents and students are asked to drop off their pumpkins at school on October 30 before school in the morning. We would then ask that all pumpkins are picked up before 4:30 p.m. on the same day.
During the middle block, the students will be participating in our Fall Halloween Activity Day. Students will be participating in outdoor play day type activities. Students may wear their costumes on October 30. We remind families that masks and toy weapons are not allowed at school. We also encourage accessories to be left at home as they are often forgot at school.

Upcoming Dates
October 30 – Pumpkin Fest
November 9 – Picture Retake Day
November 11 – Remembrance Day Service at 10:00 a.m.
