Principal Message
Thank you to our families for another great week. Our Pumpkin Fest and Halloween Playday were both great successes. A special thank you to our staff and students for their contributions to the door decorating competition. Check out the Halloween pictures on Twitter and Instagram. There are a few items left on our lost and found table. If you are missing items, please remind your child to check the lost and found. All unclaimed items will be collected and donated on Friday.
Indoor Shoes
Thank you to the families who have already sent in a pair of indoor shoes. If you haven’t done so yet, please send a pair of running shoes early this week. Proper shoes are needed for gym class and indoor shoes keep the classrooms and the school clean.
Hot Lunch
Hot lunches will be served on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. The www.esns.ca system remains open for orders and all orders must be placed 9 days in advance of delivery, as we must place our orders with our suppliers in this time frame. An email will be sent on Sunday as a reminder of your purchases. Please note that orders will only be processed if they are paid in full. The ESNS website accepts orders until Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
Join our Zinc Saves Lives Battery Recycling Campaign
Recycle for the Planet. Recycle for Life. Zinc Saves Lives.
Each year, nearly 450,000 children die due to complications associated with zinc deficiency. One AA battery contains the amount of zinc that can save the lives of six children.
This year, our Me to We team will be partnering with Teck for the Call2Recycle program to help keep batteries out of landfills and help get zinc to the children who need it most. For every battery recycled, Teck will donate the value of zinc it contains to UNICEF in support of our Zinc & Health partnership. Please send your old, used batteries to school for recycling.
Pumpkin Patrol
We are pleased to advise you that once again, the Pumpkin Patrol volunteers will be patrolling your school and community on the evenings of Friday October 30th, and Saturday October 31st. School Board volunteers will be patrolling our schools and facilities. This is the 21st year since the program was initiated.
This security program has been very successful in reducing the amount of vandalism to Board facilities and helping to ensure the safety of children and students in the community.
Knitting Club
The knitting club is looking for extra yarn. If you have extra yarn, please send it to the office. Any help is appreciated.
