Principal Message

Thank you for another great week. I am impressed with the work our students are doing in reading. All of our teachers are providing direct support through guided reading or small group activities to help students build on their skills. Recently our teachers participated in a book club studying the book “No Independent Reading Without Support.” During our sessions, we focussed on best practices and looked at how to meet the needs of individual students. Our teachers are noticing our students are implementing the strategies taught and are seeing an increase in positive attitudes towards reading.

Wednesday’s Dance-a-thon – White and Glow Day
Please wear white and neon colours and get ready to glow. Students will be dancing to raise money for school council projects. We are looking forward to our Dance-a-thon on March 2. We are looking for volunteers to work the glow table and count money. If you are free to volunteer for a few hours on Wednesday, March 2, please email andrea_michelutti@wrdsb.on.ca.

The goal of our dance-a-thon is to raise money to pay for the cost of transportation for field trips, additional devices, and items to enhance our students’ school experiences. Students who raise more than $25 will receive a special glow ring. The class that raises the most money and the class who returns all of their pledge-a-lopes will receive special prizes. During the dance-a-thon, students may purchase items at the Glow store (prices range from $2 to $5).
