September 2nd, 2022
We are excited to begin a new school year! Our school is gleaming, classrooms are set up for learning, and our educators are looking forward to seeing everyone Tuesday September 6, 9:20 am.
Class Assignments
Normally, this is the day you would access School-Day and find out about classes and educators for your children.
You may be aware that yesterday WRDSB shared that School-Day is not fully functioning and we are unable to share classroom or teacher assignments via School-Day.
We have developed a plan to work through this unexpected development.
The Plan
On Tuesday morning, our staff will be outside with whole-school class lists. Class line-up areas will be evident with bright cones and signs with the educators’ names. Staff members will be wearing bright yellow or orange vests.
For Bus Arrival
Our staff will lead our students to the side of the school where our youngest students will be directed to their correct class lineup. Our older students will be directed to the front sidewalk, near the school where their correct class lineup is located. We will help all our bus students find the correct line-up spot.
For students who walk or are dropped off
Our supervision begins at 9:05. We will be happy to greet our students and their families between 9:05 and 9:20. Look for a staff member (wearing a vest) and we can help direct you and your children to their correct class lineup.
If it’s pouring rain, come to our mobile canopy near the gym doors. A staff member will direct them to their line-up in the gym. We ask that you say your goodbyes outside.
To give you a snapshot of classrooms, here is our Homeroom List
K1 Room 10: Mrs. E. Mifsud
K2 Room 11: Mrs. J. Mesar, Ms. R. Arnburg, Mrs. S. Hamid
Grade 1/2A: Mrs. D. McGill

Grade 2/3: Mrs. P. Wilson
Grade 3/4: Mr. S. McKenzie
Grade 4/5: Mr. J. Heer

Our school office is closed on Monday, September 5, the Labour Day holiday. Our office opens at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday September 6.
Just a note that our canine friends will need to remain off school property. For safety, all our schools have a policy that restricts dogs from entering school property during the school day.
In Closing
Every school year seems to hold a new challenge for us! We know students and families may feel some extra anxiety with this new change in how we find out about classes. We are here to support you and our Dragons! We know where each and every one of your students will be and have been preparing carefully for them.
We are incredibly thankful that we are able to be with each other in-person. We look forward to seeing you September 6th and to a year of learning, caring, and growing together.
