As shared in December, I am pleased to announce that New Dundee Public School has partnered up the National Football League (NFL) to promote the Play 60 program. New Dundee Public School is one of four schools across Canada selected for this 28 day program. The purpose of the program is to motivate students to move more before, during, and after school for at least 60 minutes every day. We are encouraging all students and their families to get moving every day in January. There will be a kick off assembly on Tuesday, January 5 to launch the program. We are looking for parents and community members to volunteer during nutrition breaks to help run programs, if you are able to help out please email andrea_michelutti@wrdsb.on.ca.

To launch the Play 60 program, there will be a kickoff assembly on Tuesday, January 5 at 12:10 p.m. All students are encouraged to wear a sports jersey and running shoes on Tuesday. During this assembly, the students will learn about the fun activities being offered at the school over the next 4 weeks to help keep moving throughout the day. Students will be tracking the number of minutes they are physically active each day. Parents, siblings, families, friends, and neighbours are also encouraged to track the number of physical activity minutes on a survey that will be released on Tuesday. Please contact me if you have any questions.
